Important Documents and Essays on Christian Politics

WARNING! QUICKSAND AHEAD!

Before you look at the articles below, and before we engage in some sort of dialog about them, you must ask yourself this question: Is there such a thing as Christian Politics? Seriously, is there a political perspective that is distinctly Biblical and Christ-centered to the exclusion of all other perspectives? If you say "yes" to that question, you must be prepared with Biblical references (chapter and verse), and not simply your hunch or feelings or presuppositions. Let us consider this for a moment before moving on.

Pretty much all Believers would agree that Communism as a political system is wrong. That one is easy because Communism demands atheism.

Pretty much all Believers would agree that Nazism (National Socialism) as a political system is wrong. That one is also easy because killing people to develop a "pure race" (whatever that is) would be condemned by God. But let's look at that a little closer for a moment.

When the Hebrew People left Egypt for "the Promised Land," God commanded them to kill all the people (men, women, children and even dogs) before they settled into the cities and villages. This reduced the chance of intermarriage and allowed the Jewish race to remain pure for the next few thousand years. How is that different than what Hitler attempted? Before you try to crucify me, let me say that there ARE differences. But do YOU know the differences?

On the other hand, when you consider more "normal" or typical or "moderate" political views, what could be considered Biblical and what could not? I mean, just how liberal can one become without being condemned by Scripture? Or just how conservative can one become without the Holy Spirit convicting one of being too extreme?

Or even more relevant: is national socialized medicine, and specifically Obamacare, morally wrong? Or how about this one: Is welfare a sin? Most Christians would agree that abortion is murder, but how about physician-assisted suicide for the terminally ill?

Politics is a deep and tumultuous topic, and seldom has simple answers. Most people would suggest that there is room for disagreement. But exactly how much room? Just how far can one stray to the Right or the Left before one becomes out of step with the will of God?

Just exactly what is Christian Politics?

If you are not prepared to think, then you are not prepared to read the articles below. And you need to check back regularly because we will be adding more articles regularly.

These essays are thorough and detailed and as complete as I know how to make them.
Yet I tried to keep them to a reasonable length.
So please feel free to review and comment.
In addition, feel free to use these articles in any situation you believe they would be constructive in helping other Christians grow in their relationships with God. The only restriction I would ask is that you share the article as you download it, complete in all its content, and showing the author of the article.

Description

The Truth About Science A hundred years ago, Science was still in its infancy. True scientists engaged in true research and developed true theories which faced true experimentation and confirmation. And true scientists a hundred years ago in general believed in God. Today, in the 21st Century, politics and religion play a huge role in Science, especially in what is considered for experimentation and confirmation. In all honesty, Science has lost its objectivity. This article looks at the problem, explaining how Science itself disproves the dominant underlying belief system of most scientists -- Darwinian Evolution.
A Trump Presidency Let's face it! The first choice you had for a Conservative Republican President has flopped. The Candidate may have been good - in fact, may have been GREAT. But somehow Trump got most of the votes. SO NOW WHAT? Are we stuck with the lesser of two evils? Is that what this election is all about? Do we hold our noses and hit the switch for Trump? Do we stay home and refuse to vote? Do we write in our candidate, even though there seems to be no chance of victory? What do we do?
Seven Steps to Depravity Why do so many people resist the God of the Bible? And why are Christians so opposed to homosexality? Two unrelated questions? Take a close look at the Book of Romans if you want an answer to BOTH questions.
What I believe Just so there are no misunderstandings, I have written a fairly detailed description of what I believe on a number of different issues. There are plenty of opportunities for Liberals to disagree, and for Conservatives to agree. But if you are one who believes that all opinions are equal and that no one has the right to claim that others are wrong, then you do not have a right to claim that I do not have a right to claim that others are wrong. If you hold to this usually Liberal view, then do not claim I am wrong in my Conservative views or else you are a hypocrite.
Christian Political Activism Can you be a true Christian and engage in political activism? Can you be an activist and still practice Paul's exhortation to submit to our rulers? What exactly did Paul mean about submitting to our rulers? If these questions ever entered your mind, this article is for you.
Patriotism v. Nationalism This is the text of a speech I delivered to the Free Speech Forum hosted by the University of Tennessee Political Science Department. The previous month, the speaker was a devout socialist who clearly and unabashedly advocated removing the Constitution and changing America into a socialist nation. He was well received by the faculty and the audience. When I delivered this speech, I was called a terrorist by the faculty and they refused to pay the normal fee of $300 which was paid to all Free Speech Forum presenters, including the well-received socialist who advocated overthrowing our government. I guess that shows you the current state of our educational institutions. And for the record, I received a standing ovation by the audience, dozens of who remained behind for several hours to ask questions and discuss the speech.
Anarchy This is the first in a series of five articles I wrote for a conservative newspaper several years ago. It begins a discussion of what America was created to be.
If Not Anarchy, Then What? This is the second in a series of five articles I wrote for a conservative newspaper several years ago. It begins a discussion of what America was created to be.
Why A Republic? This is the third in a series of five articles I wrote for a conservative newspaper several years ago. It begins a discussion of what America was created to be.
Where Do Rights Come From? This is the fourth in a series of five articles I wrote for a conservative newspaper several years ago. It begins a discussion of what America was created to be.
If You Can't... This is the fifth in a series of five articles I wrote for a conservative newspaper several years ago. It begins a discussion of what America was created to be.
Federal Jurisdiction Federal Jurisdiction within the several States is clearly quite limited by the Constitution. Yet we see more federal laws than most can count that are applied by the central government which affect Americans and their activities. This is so ONLY because We The People allow it to be true. It is time We The People stand up and take notice of these egregious violations of the Constitution by our federal government.
